Emerald Coast Events | September 2021







Enjoy the last bit of summer with long days at the beach and then take part in some local festivities this September! There are a variety of events and family-friendly activities happening all along our coast. Check it out!


FESTIVALS & HAPPENINGS:


Perfect Hues: Baytowne Art & Food Fest
When: September 3rd-5th
WhereThe Village of Baytowne Wharf
Description: This Labor Day Weekend Join The Village of Baytowne Wharf for Perfect Hues: Baytowne Art & Food Fest. Each evening from 5pm-10pm stroll The Village Streets as you browse a variety of artwork from local and regional artists, and savor bites from some of the area’s best restaurants and food trucks. Enjoy live music throughout the festival and spectacular fireworks show over the lagoon on Sunday at 9:30pm. Admission is free and open to the public. The main stage at the events Plaza will feature live music nightly from 5-10PM.

HarborWalk Village Arts & Drafts
When: September 3rd
WhereHarborWalk Village
Description: Kick-off your weekend with an evening of live music, craft brews, and interactive art! Beginning at 6PM, stroll the Harbor sampling seasonal brews and shop for unique, one-of-a-kind items created by talented local artisans. Live music sets the mood for a perfect fall evening on the Destin Harbor! $10 On-site parking fee. Featured brews will include Idyll Hounds, Abita, Emerald Republic, Sweet Water, and more. Representatives will be on-site to answer any questions about how your favorite brew is made and educate you on craft beer as you sample! Each sampling is 5oz and requires 2 tokens. HarborWalk Village Labor Day Concert Celebration
When: September 4-5th

Description: Join HarborWalk Village for their Labor Day Concert Celebration set to take place Saturday, September 4, and Sunday, September 5 beginning at 7PM. Send off the Summer with live music all weekend and fireworks over the Destin Harbor on Sunday! $10 On-site parking fee

FOOW: Labor Day Weekend BBQ

Description: FOOW has your Labor Day cookout covered - no mess, no fuss! Come in on Sunday, September 5th from 5-9PM for FOOW's BBQ Cookout Platter special, and enjoy family-friendly fun on the FOOW Green, including lawn games and live entertainment. Open to the public; outdoor activities available to FOOW patrons only. In an effort to seat guests more efficiently, reservations are not accepted. Patriot's Run & Paddle

Where: BoatHouse Paddle Club
Description: Patriot’s Run & Paddle takes place in WaterColor Florida on Saturday, September 11, 2021. The Patriot’s Run & Paddle is a collaboration between RUN/SUP and the Rotorhead 30A Running Company. For the 2021 Patriot’s Run & Paddle there will be three distinct events offered on race morning. 

Schedule: 
6:00-6:45: Race day registration and packet pick-up 
6:45: Pre-race 
7:00: Patriot's Challenge start 
7:15: 5K Trail Run start 
9:00: 2.5K SUP Race start 
10:15: Awards ceremony + Post-race festivities (details to follow for the post-race festivities) 

Ten percent of proceeds from registration for the Patriot’s Run & Paddle is going to the Fisher House of the Emerald Coast. This is a fantastic organization that is doing incredible things for our local military families during times of need. Hops For Hounds

WhereWorld of Beer @ Destin Commons
Description: Bring your four-legged friend to the 4th Annual Hops for Hounds event! On Sunday, September 12th, sample beers from nine breweries at each of the murals while strolling through the Commons with your pup. The $35 ticket includes beer, light bites, a doggy swag bag, and festivities. (Swag bags limited to the first 100 people to register!) Funds raised at this event will support Dog-Harmony and our local area shelter enrichment programs! 

Dog-Harmony is a nonprofit organization in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, whose goal is to reduce the number of unwanted dogs at shelters through humane education and fear free training for both people and dogs. International Ocean Film Tour

WhereWatersound Origins Village Commons Lawn
Description: Adventure. Action. Ocean Life. The Watersound Origins community will host the 4th Annual International Ocean Film Tour at Village Commons. This outdoor event will feature 6-7 films with inspiring protagonists, powerful stories, and stunning visuals all into one film program. Tickets are available online now. Food and beverage service will not be available onsite, but attendees will be permitted to bring coolers. Attendees are invited to bring low-back chairs or blankets for a night of inspiring films under the stars. Due to demand, the event will take place over 2 nights – the same films will be shown each night, allowing twice as many people to enjoy the event! The event is rain or shine. Burgers, Bourbon & Beer Festival

Description: A new culinary experience in coming to the Destin Harbor on September 18. The Burgers, Bourban & Beer Festival invites burger-lovers to enjoy an afternoon full of gourmet burgers from local restaurants, paired with local craft beers, the best bourbons, live music and more. The fun begins at noon on the Destin Boardwalk behind Brotula's. You won't want to miss this friendly food competition benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast. International Coastal Cleanup
WhenSeptember 18th
WhereSouth Walton Beach Accesses
Description: Friends of South Walton Sea Turtles will once again host the International Coastal Cleanup. The Volunteer Beach Ambassador Team invites all community members and visitors to the Emerald Coast to join efforts to clean up the beaches of South Walton on Saturday morning, September 18th, from 9:00 to 11:00AM. Registration begins at 8:45AM. All participants are encouraged to provide their own trash bags or buckets, gloves, hat, sunscreen, water bottle, etc. In addition, it is recommended you wearing a facemask for your personal safety and the safety of others. If you would like to join in a clean up at a Regional Access, you will find Host Volunteer Beach Ambassadors at the following locations:

Creatures of the Night Cirque Show

Description: Santa Rosa Beach Aerial Arts presents Creatures of the Night, a cirque show under the stars on Saturday, September 18 in Aaron Bessant Park. Come out to this family-friendly event and see aerial acrobatic performances, circus performers, fire performers and much more! Enjoy food trucks, drinks, vendors, pre-show entertainment and family activities. Event gates open at 5pm, kids portion matinee starts at 6pm and the main show starts at 7pm. General admission early bird pricing is currently $25 for adults and $15 for kids under 10. There are limited VIP tickets available and all prices will go up at the gate. Purses With a Purpose

Description: Purses with a Purpose, a signature Shelter House event, returns for the 10th-anniversary event. Shoppers at Purses with a Purpose have the opportunity to select from hundreds of new and gently used purses, wallets, and accessories up for sale or auction. Handbags from designers including Tory Burch, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Coach, and more will be available for purchase. New to the event this year, shoppers that are unable to attend the event in person will have access to virtually bid on handbags in the silent auction. Shoppers will also enjoy light bites along with wine and specialty cocktails by Timber Creek Distillery. VIP tickets are $25 if purchased before September 23 and or $30 if purchased at the door. Purses with a Purpose reopens for bargain shopping on Friday, September 24 from 12:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 25 from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. with deep discounts on remaining merchandise, plus muffins, mimosas, and free admission. Both Friday and Saturday are free to attend and open to the public. Artful Dining Series: Wine Dinner Benefiting MKAF at Vintij

Description: Join Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation at Vin'tij Food & Wine in Grand Boulevard, on September 28th, 2021, at 6:00 PM for the next ArtFul Dining series of wine dinners benefiting MKAF’s arts education and community engagement initiatives throughout Northwest Florida. Vin’tij Executive Chef Iganacio Bernal will orchestrate a culinary palette to pair with the incredible wines. Purchase Tickets HERE.
