Baytowne Memorial Day Weekend Celebration 
When: Saturday, May 29th - Sunday, May 30th
WhereThe Village of Baytowne Wharf, Sandestin
Description: The Village of Baytowne Wharf is gearing up for Memorial Day Weekend festivities with three nights of family-friendly events! Necessary precautions will be taken to ensure social distancing and everyone is staying safe. Admission is free and open to the public. 

Saturday, May 29: Concert 7-9pm Forrest Williams Band will take the stage from 7 p.m. until 9pm. Guests are invited to dance the night away as they listen to South Walton's own Forrest Williams Band, an award-winning favorite on stage among locals and visitors to the area. Forrest and Pherrel Williams perform a variety of music from southern rock to country and blues. 

Sunday, May 30: Live music, kids activities, fireworks 6-9pm Baytowne Wharf will host free children activities, including face painting, balloon animals, and lawn games from 6-9 p.m. Live music with Jarred and The High Aces. After the show, Baytowne Wharf will light up the sky above the lagoon with a patriotic fireworks show at 9:00 p.m. More info here!




Memorial Day Weekend Concert Celebration @ HarborWalk Village

Memorial Day Lost Boys Beach Bash @ Norriego Point

Description: Bwoke and Lost Wandering present the first Inaugural Lost Boy's Beach Bash! This is an opportunity to give back to the community by providing locals and visitors with a fun filled day full of music, art, and all around good vibes. They're giving away hundreds of pounds of free crawfish! There will be games and prizes and tons of free merch! HELP KEEP OUR BEACHES CLEAN! Let's do our part and clean up after ourselves and others who've forgotten to! They'll be providing trash bags for everyone on the beach in hopes that before you make it back home safely at the end of the day that you fill up that trash bag with litter. More info here!

Memorial Day Weekend @ Crab Island
When: Saturday, May 29th - Monday, May 31st

Description: From early morning to sunset hundreds of boats, kayaks, and wave runners anchor down and celebrate at this popular Destin hang out. Wade through the shallow waters and enjoy music, food, and drinks at the floating restaurants. Rent a pontoon, kayak, or wave runner to see for yourself why Crab Island is Destin’s summertime hot spot!



Memorial Day Service @ Gulf Cemetery
When: Monday, May 31st @ 10:00am
WhereGulf Cemetery, Santa Rosa Beach
Description: Gulf Cemetery will host the annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 31 at 10:00 a.m. in Santa Rosa Beach. The approximately 150 veterans interred in the cemetery will be honored in a service that will include a keynote speech by Retired Air Force General, Philip Breedlove. In conjunction with this year’s ceremony, the The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall will be available to view. The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall is a 3/5 scale of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC, it stands six feet tall at the center and covers almost 300 feet from end to end. This Memorial Day ceremony is a wonderful opportunity for the entire family to join in a dignified, respectful and patriotic tribute to these men and women who served our country in the Armed Forces. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the children present will be provided American flags to place on each of the veterans' gravesites. 

Gulf Cemetery is located at 1466 S County Highway 393, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be conducted at the Chapel at High Point, located across SR 393 from the cemetery. The public is welcome to attend. More info here!

With summer almost here, there's so much to do! May is full of fun events and good causes. From music, to movies, to charity events, to Memorial Day Weekend happenings – there's a lot to be a part of. We've listed a few of our favorite happenings below. Plan a weekend to visit, or if you're lucky enough to be local, enjoy it all!  


FESTIVALS & HAPPENINGS:

4th Annual Jeep Beach Jam
When: May 14-18th
Where: Panama City Beach
Description: Jeep Beach Jam is already known as the “Fastest Growing Jeep Event in the Southeast” and this year will be our largest ever. We are currently estimating more than 2,000 Jeeps coming from over 17 States, all ready for the 4th Annual Jeep Beach Jam. Experience a Jeep owners Dream Vacation to the “World’s Most Beautiful Beaches”. Gather up your family and Jeep club and start making plans for heading straight to Panama City Beach Florida for a fun extended weekend with Jeep lovers from all over. For more info click here!

Description: Digital Graffiti at Alys Beach is a one-of-a-kind projection art festival where artists use the latest digital technologies to project their original works onto the iconic white walls of Alys Beach. 
Opening night, Friday, May 17, is our family-friendly night featuring our 2019 projection art installations. Local food trucks and vendors are located throughout the festival footprint, while the street party winds through Alys Beach from Highway 30A all the way to Caliza restaurant. There, attendees will be greeted with à la carte food and drink options and fun for the whole family. This event is open to all ages. 
Saturday evening, May 18, is an all-inclusive food and drink experience, with stops along the festival’s path featuring samples by local and regional chefs, winemakers, distillers, and breweries. The evening culminates with desserts, spirits, and casual discussions of art around the pool at Caliza restaurant, which will showcase additional artwork. This event is 21+. The Emerald Ball

Where: Hilton | Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort
Description: The Sacred Heart Foundation is rolling out the green carpet for the inaugural Emerald Ball on Saturday, May 18 at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa. The black-tie gala will benefit the expansion of the Comprehensive Spine Program at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast. The Champagne Reception will begin at 6 p.m. and doors will open for general admission at 6:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear shades of emerald for an elegant evening of dinner and dancing. Entertainment will include live music by Bay Bridge Band, live painting by South Walton Artist of the Year, Jenna Varney, and a wine and bourbon pull. Tickets are available online!

Description: You're invited to the 5th annual Lionfish Removal and Awareness Festival on May 18-19, 2019 at AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar and HarborWalk Village overlooking Destin harbor. The event is FREE and open to the public and will feature family-friendly activities, art, diving and marine conservation booths, live music, fillet demonstrations, lionfish tastings, and the world's largest lionfish spearfishing tournament, the Emerald Coast Open. Where: Rosemary Beach Town Hall
Description: This year’s exhibition includes 16 sculptures from artists across 12 states. An Artist Panel Discussion will be held on Thursday, May 23rd at 6:30 p.m. in the Rosemary Beach Town Hall; and, the Opening Event will take place on Friday, May 24th at 4:00 p.m. in the Rosemary Beach Town Hall Courtyard. A beer and wine bar will be available at both events. Materials for the contemporary sculptures are as varied as their subject matter. Some address issues such as the environment and freedom, while others explore nature or formal elements like color, perspective, and balance, with one towering to 16 feet high. In addition to the juried show, a science-based sculpture created by students from Ohana School will also be on display. Made of debris from our Gulf waters, beach, and surrounding areas, the sculpture will raise awareness of the ever-growing problem of single-use plastics and its threat to oceans, marine life and humans alike. Description: Boat, float, or paddle up to LuLu's Destin to kick off the summer on Saturday, May 25th! Free concerts from 12-7:30pm on the Bay Bar. Enjoy a fun day on LuLu's beach, eat some great food and maybe get a hair wrap or henna tattoo! Paddle board & kayak rentals will be available and Fly the Beach Sea Plane lessons will be set up on the bay at LuLu's! Description: The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin kicks off their Memorial Day festivities with three nights of family-friendly, free events! Enjoy a relaxing and patriotic weekend at the boutiques, eateries, and nightlife of The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin. Fireworks, children's activities, live music, and a ceremony will be hallmarks of this annual event. Click here for more info!


When: May 25-26th
Where: HarborWalk Village
Description: Celebrate Memorial Day weekend on Destin Harbor with live music and fireworks show over the harbor. It's time for flip flops, suntans, and summer! Kick-off summer with live music on the Destin Harbor all weekend long. Fireworks over the Destin Harbor will close the festivities on Sunday night at 9pm. Click here for more info!

Where: The Boardwalk | Okaloosa Island
Description: Kick-off summer with a special Memorial Day Weekend Fireworks show on Sunday at 9pm! Grab a beach chair or a seat at The Boardwalk for a stellar view of the show. Be sure to join each Wednesday at 9pm for the Okaloosa Island Fireworks series May 29th through August 14th! Click here for more info!


When: May 27th | 10:00am
Where: Gulf Cemetary
Description: Gulf Cemetery will host the annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 27th at 10AM in Santa Rosa Beach. The 125 veterans interred in the cemetery will be honored in a service that will include a keynote speech by Retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and F-15 Fighter Pilot, Scott Warner. Also, Cloud 9 Orchestra, a local big band, will play music during the ceremony. There will be a military aircraft flyover during the national anthem and the Walton County Sheriff’s Honor Guard will provide a ceremonial volley salute to the fallen. The ceremony will conclude with a "missing man" flyover formation performed with WWII aircraft by the Destin Warbirds. Click here for more info!

Where to Celebrate New Year's Eve Along the Emerald Coast

HarborWalk Village New Year's Eve Street Party

When: Monday, December 31st | 7:00pm - 12:00am

Ring in 2019 at HarborWalk Village’s New Year’s Eve Street Party featuring two live bands, two fireworks shows, and a ball drop over the Destin Harbor! 

HarborWalk Village is giving back this holiday season by collecting supplies and donations for those impacted by Hurricane Michael. Visit our Hurricane Relief tent and join us in recovery efforts! Donations will be given to panhandlerelief.org and Volunteer Florida. Supplies needed include: blankets, cleaning supplies, sleeping bags, tents, work gloves, winter jackets and clothes for kids, hygiene products and towels.  Outdoor events are free to attend. On-Site parking is $10.00.



When: Monday, December 31st | 6:00pm - 1:00am
Enjoy our family friendly evening from 6-8pm with face painting, kids activities, and live music on the Baytowne stage, finishing off with a fireworks display at 8pm. Ring in the New Year with an evening to remember, with two breathtaking fireworks displays at 8pm and midnight. Dance the night away to live music until 1am, featured on the Events Plaza Stage. You don’t want to miss The Village of Baytowne Wharf’s end-of-the-year celebration!  

After the kid friendly evening and 8pm fireworks show, take the kids over to Magnolia Ball Room at the Grand Conference Center for a fun place to let your kids hang out! 
From 6:30pm -1:00am kids will enjoy a pizza party with juice boxes, a bounce house, movies on the projector screen, Xbox one games, crafts, scooters, and more! 
Kids must be 4-12 years of age to attend Kids Night Out.
$70 per child for the entire night or $20 per child per hour.

The Best Places In Destin to Celebrate the 4th of July


On July 4th, fireworks celebrations will take place all along the Emerald Coast. Below are several fireworks displays to celebrate Independence Day 2018. 

4th of July Celebration @ Rosemary Beach
When: Wednesday, July 4th | 7:30am - 9:00pm
Where: Rosemary Beach
Event Times: Bike Decorating Contest & Breakfast @ 7:30am  |  Bike Parade @ 8:30am  |  Field Day @ 9am  |  Concert @ 6pm  |  Fireworks @ 8:45pm

Start bright and early with the Rosemary Beach Bike Decorating Contest & Breakfast followed by the Bike Parade throughout the Town Center. Enjoy an old-fashioned family field day on Western Green with sack races, water balloon toss, games prizes and more. Later in the evening, rock to the sounds of the different decades with our band the “Like Totally” Hep Cats on the Western Green. Enjoy a star spangled fireworks display from the beach courtesy of the Rosemary Beach Property Owners Association. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome. 



South Walton 4th of July Parade
When: Wednesday, July 4th | 8:00am - 9:00pm
Where: Seagrove to Downtown Seaside

Seaside hosts the community's annual Independence Day parade along Scenic 30A. The parade starts at Seagrove Plaza and ends at Seaside where the party continues. Enjoy your day in town with special offers from our Seaside Merchants and capture all the fun with commemorative photos from the Merchant-sponsored Photo Airstream. Join your friends and neighbors for the annual July 4th Parade down Scenic Highway 30-A and concluding in Seaside with even more fun! The parade begins in Seagrove Beach and travels down 30A, ending in Seaside. After the parade, stick around for the awards presentation, face painting and other fun all around this favorite SoWal beach town. It is the perfect way to kick off your Independence Day! 

Make sure to reserve your spot on the lawn for a festive concert performance at 7pm followed by an unbelievable fireworks finale over the Gulf of Mexico around 8:30pm—an annual 4th of July Seaside tradition! Make sure to grab your seat on the lawn early, as space fills up quickly for this festive event.

Off site parking and shuttles into Seaside are available on July 4th from 6AM to Midnight at the County lot in Grayton Beach at Highway 283. Free to ride. 



Red, White & Baytowne 
When: Wednesday, July 4th | 6:00pm - 10:00pm
Where: The Village of Baytowne Wharf

Join Sandestin for its spectacular 4th of July Celebration. Enjoy a day of fun in the sun, then move the family over to The Village of Baytowne Wharf for an evening of family activities and that lights up the sky at Red, White and Baytowne from 6-10pm. The Village of Baytowne Wharf will have a host of kids activities, including kids' crafts, face painting, and balloon sculpting. Live music will be performed by Donovan Keith & The Funky Meat from 6-9 p.m. Grab your boogie shoes and join in the fun. 4th of July Concert & Fireworks at Alys Beach

Where: Alys Beach Amphitheatre

Celebrate the 4th of July at Alys Beach from 6-9 pm with live music by the Celebrity Allstar Band followed by fireworks. Bring blankets, low back chairs and your favorite beverage and grab a spot on the amphitheater lawn. Food and beverage available. Free and open to the pubic. The Celebrity Allstars are a supergroup comprised of former members of Earth Wind & Fire, Eagles, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Janet Jackson, Kenny Loggins, Bette Midler,Mariah Carey, & Garth Brooks. Star Spangled Spectacular Fireworks @ Pier Park

Where: Pier Park in Panama City Beach

Celebrate Indepe the largest fireworks display on the Gulf Coast. Each year there are dueling fireworks from the City (Russell-Fields) and County (MBMiller)Piers.   Pier Park is a popular place to view the fireworks show starting at 9pm. Grab a choice spot and enjoy the show! Head to the rooftop at The Back Porch Seafood & Oyster House for a front row seat. Or stroll the streets for a fun night of shopping, entertainment, cocktails and dining at Pier Park located on Front Beach Road.
