Emerald Coast Events | June 2023



 
 
June is just around the corner! Along with the warmth of summer June brings loads of local events to attend. There is never a lack of fun here along the Emerald Coast! June is a great time to socialize, enjoy good food, drink, and entertainment all month long. Check out some of the events happening along the Emerald Coast and plan a visit. If you're lucky enough to be local – enjoy them all!


FESTIVALS & HAPPENINGS:
 
Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam
When: June 1st-4th
Where: Frank Brown Park
Description: Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam is a multi-day country music festival in Panama City Beach, Florida taking place June 1st - 4th at Frank Brown Park. Tickets and info at gulfcoastjam.com.

Distillery 98 Paddle Boil: Paddle Boasrd Race + Sip & Shop
When: June 3rd-4th
Where: Various Locations
Description: Join Distillery 98 for the 3rd Annual Paddle Boil on June 3rd & 4th. Summer by the Half Shell festivities begin on Saturday, June 3rd with a morning paddle board race in Grayton Beach on Western Lake followed by a Sip & Shop. The party continues on Sunday, June 4th with their infamous Crawfish Boil & Distillery Party. 

Saturday, June 3rd | Summer by the Half Shell Event 
9AM - 11AM: Paddle Race at Grayton Boat Ramp 
11AM - 4PM: Sip & Shop at Tribe Kelly Surf Company special launch party to celebrate “the best bottle for the beach,” Half Shell Vodka. Everyone is welcome to come sip, shop, and hang out, but you must be 21+ to drink. 

Sunday, June 4th | Crawfish Boil & Distillery Party 
11AM - 4PM: Crawfish and Oysters 
1PM - 3PM: LIVE MUSIC with Boukou Groove 

Tickets for the Sunday event will go on sale May 23rd and be available for purchase at the distillery.
 

 





Walton Area Chamber of Commerce Spring Golf Classic
When: June 9th
Where: Blackstone Golf Course
Description: Join the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce on Friday, June 9th for their Annual Spring Classic at Blackstone Golf Course in DeFuniak Springs. Breakfast and registration begins at 8AM and a shotgun start will kick off the tournament at 9AM.

Fore! The Love of Animals Golf Tournament
When: June 10th
Where: The Links Golf Club | Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort
Description: Calling all animal lovers and golf enthusiasts! Alaqua Animal Refuge will host the Second Annual “FORE! The Love of Animals” Golf Tournament to be held Saturday, June 10 at The Links Golf Club at Sandestin in Miramar Beach, FL. 

The Tournament features an 8:30 a.m. check-in with a 10 a.m. shotgun start, scamble format; breakfast by Chick-fil-A and a Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar; 18 holes of golf with a cart; boxed lunch; two drink tickets; and a fun after-party. 

Presented by Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort as the Top Dog Title Sponsor, the Tournament welcomes teams of four plus individuals. Registration is $250 per golfer or $850 per foursome. Registration opens Wednesday, April 5 and can be found online at Alaqua.org. 

The Tournament will wrap up with a “Yappy Hour” Awards Celebration to be held at the Sunset Bay Café in Sandestin for all participants and sponsors, and will feature an array of hors d’oeuvres, beer, and wine. The event will also have multiple raffles and live music. Awards will be given for first, second, and third teams, closest to the hole, and closest to the snake! 

FORE! The Love of Animals benefits Alaqua Animal Refuge and will provide crucial funding for its daily operations in supporting their mission to provide shelter, safety, and second chances to all kinds of animals. To learn more, visit Alaqua.org.

21st Annual Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic
When: June 21st-25th
Where: Baytowne Marina
Description:  The 21st annual Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic takes place June 21 - 25, 2023. Timed to coincide with the peak of the Gulf Coast’s blue marlin season, and located at the South’s number-one ranked resort destination, the Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort sets the new precedent for world-class sportfishing tournaments. 

This annual event offers something for everyone. Most importantly, for the angling teams, there’s the deep blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, red-hot billfish action, and cool green cash. While on-shore, both the teams and their families can enjoy the wide variety of recreational activities offered at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and The Village of Baytowne Wharf. The spectacular night time weigh-ins are held at the Baytowne Marina at Sandestin and are open to the public. 

Thursday, June 22nd | NOON 
Start of Tournament Fishing. Watch from the Destin Pass Bridge; boats will leave the marina around 11:00AM. 

Friday, June 23rd | 4:00PM - 9:00PM

Emerald Coast Events | June 2021






June is just about here and so comes lots of summertime fun! The bright sunshine and blue skies make it a great time for outdoor events! If you're in town this month or lucky enough to be local – here are some happenings to check out along the Emerald Coast. 


FESTIVALS & HAPPENINGS:


UNwineD: Celebrating Craft Beer, Spirits & Wine
When: June 4-5th
Where: Aaron Bessant Park | Panama City Beach 
Description: UNwineD is an incredible two day celebration of craft beer, spirits, and wine June 4-5, 2021 at Aaron Bessant Park in Panama City Beach. Savor the flavors of fine craft beer, award-winning wine, and delicious local cuisine pairings. 
Friday, June 4 – Presented by Southern Living Get an exclusive preview of the UNwineD and raise a glass while you mix and mingle with elite chefs, mixologists, and top tastemakers of the South. Jam on the Coast 5k
When: June 5th
Where: Frank Brown Park | Panama City Beach
Description: The inaugural Jam on the Coast 5K presented by Visit Panama City Beach, in partnership with Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam, will take place on Saturday, June 5, 2021 in beautiful Panama City Beach, Florida. The 5K allows runners of all levels to test their limits and gives an EXCLUSIVE coupon to save on tickets to Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam! The race begins and ends in Frank Brown Park, with an after party at Texas Roadhouse. All 5K runners will receive a short sleeve shirt, and all finishers will receive a medal. Register today – only 500 runners can participate!




When: June 12th
Where: Mattie Kelly Arts Cultural Village
Description: Concert series for a good cause! The day begins at 9:30am with tailgating. Music starts at 11am with Jeff and the Camaros. Brent Burns, Mike Nash and Gary Roland with the Landsharks complete a wonderful, fun filled day. All proceeds will go to Fresh Start for Children and Families. Food trucks and raffles will complete this phintastic day! $25 advance tickets -OR- $30 day of event at the gate. Limited tent space available for $50. Purchase tickets now!

Food Truck Fest
When: June 20th
Where: Mattie Kelly Arts Cultural Village
Description: Orange Beach Breeze is bringing the Food Truck Fest to Destin on Sunday, June 20th at Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village. Beginning at 11AM, the fest will feature more than a dozen food trucks from in and around the panhandle! Vendors will also be onsite selling gifts, crafts, jewelry, personal care products and much more. This is an event the whole family can enjoy! $5 Entry fee. 12 and under are free. Emerald Coast Events | June 2019

With summer coming this month, there's so much to do! June is full of fun events and family-friendly activities! From fishing tournaments, to movies, to summer parties – there's a lot of fun to be had. We've listed a few of our favorite happenings below. Plan a weekend to visit, or if you're lucky enough to be local, enjoy it all!  


FESTIVALS & HAPPENINGS:
When: June 13-16th
Where: The Bay
Description: Thursday, June 13th 
The tournament kicks off with a Captain's Dinner & Fishing Seminar held at The Bay from 5:30-7pm. Angler's join us to hear from local inshore charter captain, Hunter Ray! $10 per guest which includes dinner & one beer. 
Friday, June 14th 
On Friday, the Father's Day Weekend Sale begins at Bay Baits. 25% off ALL ITEMS offered to all registered anglers and 15% off to everyone else. 
Saturday, June 15th 
The tournament kicks off at 6am and will continue until Sunday at 6pm. Weigh-ins will be at The Bay Restaurant beach from 4:30pm to 6:30pm on Sunday at the end of the tournament. The awards presentation will be at 7pm. 
Sunday, June 16th 
On Father's Day, the tournament ends with a Father's Day celebration and after party at The Bay Restaurant from 4pm to 8pm! 

 This event is open and free to the public. Live music will be performed by The Shakedown and free beer will be flowing courtesy of Grayton Beer Company for all anglers with a drink ticket! If you are also signed up as an adult angler, you will receive a $20 gift card to The Bay included in the price of your tournament fee. Sunday Funday 
When: Sunday, June 16th | All Day
Where: AJ's Grayton Beach
Description: AJ's is the place to be to celebrate all things Sunday Funday in Grayton Beach! Come for brunch, stay for the music and dancing. Several of SoWal's favorite local musicians rock the beach bar beginning at noon playing your favorite hits mixed with originals that keep the dance floor full until 1am. Visit their Facebook page for all their happenings!


Beer & Braids For Father's Day
When: Sunday, June 16th | 1:00pm
Where: Fish Out of Water @ WaterColor
Description: Dads and daughters make your way to Fish Out of Water and enjoy a day of beer and braids! The fun begins at 1pm on Sunday, June 16th. Learn to braid your daughter's hair while sipping on a local craft brew. Sponsored by local 30A brewery. Open to the public. $45+ per Dad and includes food, beverage, and braid instruction. $22.50 per child (12 and under) and includes food and beverage. Reservations are required by calling 850.534.5050.

When: Sunday, June 16th | 1pm-10pm
Where: The Gulf Restaurant on Okaloosa Island
Description: Come celebrate all the dads out there at The Gulf! There will be plenty of crawfish, a beer keg hunt, and drink specials. $20 for 2 lbs of crawfish or $28 for 3 lbs of crawfish. To participate in the beer keg hunt sign up before 12 PM, the hunt starts at 1 PM. Our drink specials will be your choice of Miller Lite or Coor's Light $15 beer buckets, $6 Bloody Marys, and our 32 oz. pouches are $30. For more info visit their event page on Facebook!

Where: Baytowne Marina @ Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort
Description: The 17th annual Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic takes place June 19-23, 2019. Timed to coincide with the peak of the Gulf Coast’s blue marlin season, and located at the South’s number-one ranked resort destination, the Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort sets the new precedent for world-class sportfishing tournaments. This annual event offers something for everyone. Most importantly, for the angling teams, there’s the deep blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, red-hot billfish action, and cool green cash. While on-shore, both the teams and their families can enjoy the wide variety of recreational activities offered at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and The Village of Baytowne Wharf. The spectacular nighttime weigh-ins are held at the Baytowne Marina at Sandestin and are open to the public. The competition takes place in one of the most productive fisheries in the United States. In the past several years two blue marlin “Granders” (blue marlin weighing over 1,000 lbs.) have been weighed in the Gulf, and state records for blue marlin and both bluefin and yellowfin tuna have been broken. Where: Havana Beach Rooftop Lounge @ The Pearl in Rosemary Beach
Description: Come on out to Havana Beach Rooftop Lounge on June 21st beginning at 12pm for a Summer Solstice Celebration. Complimentary admission; open to the public with food and drinks available for purchase. Enjoy bar specials all day and live entertainment into the evening. What a fun way to spend the evening with your favorite beverage, good eats and a beautiful view overlooking the Gulf of Mexico in Rosemary Beach, Florida.

Wednesday Night Concert Series | 7-9pm
Live music & musicians to entertain all in the Events Plaza lawn. 
Magical Thursday | 7-9pm
Watch as featured pirate Captain Davy takes you on an adventure with two magic shows on stage. 
Sunday Cinema | 7:15pm
Enjoy a family-friendly movie on the Events Plaza lawn. ​
